Our Specialists
Lake Imaging established GBC in 2009 to address the lack of a dedicated center for breast imaging in Geelong. Our team consists of carefully selected individuals who are all based in Geelong and are part of the local community. Unlike other services, our specialists are physically present at the center every day, providing personalized care and attention.
When your doctor refers you to GBC, our goal is to complete all your breast imaging requirements during a single visit. In most cases, you will have the opportunity to meet with one of our specialists on the same day and receive your results immediately. However, if you require a procedure or biopsy, your doctor will have access to your results within 48 hours.
For those visiting GBC for a screening mammogram through our BreastScreen service, the results will be available to both you and your doctor within a period of 2-3 weeks.
Geelong Breast Clinic
We understand that referral for breast imaging can be a worrying time. Our nursing team is here to look after you during your visit. They will be with you if you need a procedure and are there to answer any questions or concerns you may have. They are also available after your visit for follow-ups, information and support. They work closely with breast care nurses in Warrnambool and Portland and at University Hospital Barwon Health and St John of God (SJOG) Hospital. Our nurses ensure a caring and compassionate environment at the clinic.
