Dr Patrizio Capasso

Dr. Capasso obtained a BSc degree with Honors and Distinction from the George Washington University in Washington DC before completing his medical Doctorate degrees at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and University of Lausanne in Switzerland. Completing fellowships in Interventional and Neurointerventional, and Breast Radiology, he also obtained a Doctorate of Sciences at the University of Lausanne.  He was elected a Fellow of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Society of Europe and became a fellow with the RANZCR.

Following an academic career in Switzerland and the United States, he became a Professor of Radiology and Surgery and Vice Chair of the Department of Radiology at the University of Kentucky.  Here, he was awarded Teacher of the Year and elected as Chair of the Institutional Review Board for all medical research projects.

Working in New Zealand in both private and public settings he became Chair of the Executive Committee of the Senior Medical Staff of Mid Central DHB and Clinical Director of Broadway Radiology. During that time, he also completed requirements to become a reader for the national breast screening program.  Subsequently he emigrated to Geelong where he was hired as a breast radiologist and later appointed Clinical Director of Lake Radiology
