Lake Imaging are pleased to announce the relocation of the Geelong Breast Clinic from Gheringhap Street to the SJOG Granada Medical Centre.

As Geelong’s Diagnostic Breast Imaging Specialists, their brand new, purpose-built clinic in Myers Street, will offer the following services:

  • Radiologist Consultations
  • Breast Ultrasound
  • Mammography & Breast Tomosynthesis
  • Image Guided Interventional Procedures
  • Contrast Enhanced Mammography (CEM)

Contrast Enhanced Mammography (CEM) is a first for Geelong region, led by GBC Clinical Director Dr Linda West and her team of specialist radiologists.

This new imaging technique, combines 3D Tomosynthesis digital mammography with an IV contrast agent to show new or unusual blood flow patterns, helping detect and identify cancers.

This exam is an alternative to breast MRI, offering patients a shorter procedure time and referrers more detailed imaging on the extent of newly diagnosed breast cancers.

Geelong Breast Clinic will now offer a 5-day diagnostic service (Monday to Friday), providing patients with greater access to breast imaging services. Breast MRI will remain at Lake Imaging, within SJOG Hospital (next door). BreastScreen Victoria will remain at 78 Gheringhap Street Geelong, offering free routine breast screening for eligible patients.
